Arizona State House District 2
Judy Schwiebert has spent her life in LD 2 as the mom of two successful now-adult sons, a teacher for 27 years at Cactus and Greenway High Schools, and a community leader.
As a teacher, co-founder of Theater Works, church board member, yoga teacher, community center director, and grassroots organizer, she was moved to run for office when she learned that because of the legislature’s failure to invest in Arizona’s schools, more than 20% of students in Arizona now have no permanent, qualified teacher in their classroom. Like other parents, teachers, and business leaders, she knows that we all do better when every student gets the quality education they deserve. Investing in public schools allows everyone to thrive: young people can fulfill their potential, employers get a strong educated workforce, and everyone benefits from a strong economy because more people are contributing.
Judy knows and shares the priorities of the people in LD 2. It is her home. As a representative, Judy continues to listen and work together to address the issues that are priorities for families including properly investing in schools, fostering good-paying jobs, addressing the housing, water and healthcare crises, and protecting the freedom to vote.
