Arizona State Senate District 17
Ajlan “A.J.” Kurdoglu moved to Arizona many years ago to attend Thunderbird, Graduate School of International Management. After getting his MBA, he decided to stay because he loved the state, its nature, its culture, and most importantly its people – even its dry heat.
He built his business in the East Valley and he has helped his neighbors for more than 17 years, through ups and downs, good times and recessions. As a small business owner, he knows the importance of small businesses for communities and he knows the challenges small business owners and employees are facing daily. A vibrant economy and a dynamic workforce are essential for the bright future of our beautiful state.
He is a product of public education, and the love of his life is a teacher in public schools. He knows how hard teachers work, how much of their own time and money they pour into their jobs, and how they need to be appreciated and supported by the community. Arizona’s kids and teachers deserve the utmost attention. Arizona needs to fund its schools sufficiently and must pay its teachers well.
As a first-generation American, he has an immense love for our country and our state; he cherishes the freedoms, opportunities, and quality of life our great country and Arizona offers. As an Arizonan, he believes everyone should have access to a great education, to a great health care system, and to thriving communities.
