2020 Race Update: Joanna lost 48.03% to 49.65%

Joanna Cattanach is a former foster child and former reporter from Dallas. She is a first-generation college graduate, a journalism professor, and a community advocate whose work on common sense gun reform, public school funding, reproductive rights, and more continues now as a candidate for State House. A Latina and proud mother of two boys, she is an involved public-school parent and community educator. Her unprecedented 2018 run for House District 108 ended in a recount with just 220 votes separating her from her Republican opponent. She is running again with a community of support excited to see a new voice and new representation in the Texas legislature.
