Monique Smith has lived on the west side of Greater Cleveland with her husband Dan for the past 16 years. They and their two children enjoy living in the great community of Fairview Park.
Monique was born in Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. She is running for State Representative in Ohio’s 16th House District, which includes Rocky River, Bay Village, Westlake, North Olmsted, and Fairview Park. These are the same communities where Monique’s extended family, husband, and friends were born, raised, and are still proud to call home.
As an active member of the west side community, Monique ran for city council in Lakewood in 2009 and won an At Large seat representing over 52,000 constituents from 2010 to 2014. She is proud to have been a part of the leadership team that utilized fiscal responsibility and innovation to turn the city around.
In addition to her work as a councilwoman, Monique’s professional resume includes marketing and sales at headquarters for some of Ohio’s best-known companies. These experiences give Monique the ability to combine the best of private and public sector ideas in her work for the community, which she did as councilwoman and will continue to do as State Representative.
