Nancy Guenst grew up the youngest of five in a blue collar family. In 1976, she joined the U.S. Army, serving as a Communications Analyst and German translator at Field Station Berlin. She has since been married to her husband Steve, for over 25 years and raised a son named Alexander. She served on the City Council for two terms, working across the aisle to improve Hatboro’s parks, finances, and infrastructure. On the City Council, she led the effort to pass a Human Relations ordinance to protect the LGBTQ community. Upon becoming the first female Mayor of Hatboro, she immediately signed the Human Relations ordinance into law and has never stopped fighting for what’s right.
